Joey graduated from Deming High School in Mount Olivet,KY. May 30,2008. Even though we are his Parents and Grandparents , with predjudice , he is one GOOD LOOKING BOY ! We are very proud of Joey not only because he graduted high school , millions of kids accomplish that every year , we are proud because of the man he has grown up to be.He is a very loving , kind , caring and for the most part responsible boy well man now. It is hard for me to describe him as a man because I still think of him as our little Joe Bear. Joey We love ya and remember the "B" list that Mr. Miller talked about at graduation.

Deming School
This is where Joey graduated , this school handles grades kindergarden thru the 12th grade. I have put the schools picture here because there are not many like this school. It has an intimate family like feel to it. There were only 27 students that represented the 2008 graduating class. When Mr. Miller got up to speak , he had a memory of each individual student and called them out by name. This was possibe because of the small home town family feeling in this school. We are getting a new school built and I hope this carries on to this new school. I know Joey has a lot of good memories for this school and its teachers to take with him on his new adventures in life. They sang a song on Class Night on the Tuesday before graduation , "Your Gonna Miss This" by Trace Adkins , and as they travel life's road I know that they will miss Deming School.
This vase of white roses were on stage next to the podium. Each white rose represented a parent or grandparent of a graduate that had passed away and could not be there for their child/grandchilds graduation. Joey was one of these kids, his father Joe passed away on October 16 , 2003 , but I know he was there in spirit as proud as we all were of his Joe Bear. His dad Joe was the one who used to call him Joe Bear and it caught on and everybody would call him that when he was little.
Mr. Miller , one of the teachers at Deming was asked by the students to give a speach to the class of '08. he is an excellent speaker and gave a very personalized speech recognizing each student with "What he had learned from them". He learned from Joey how to save the tread on his tires,"Drive so the car never touches the road" and he also taught him how to properly wear a hat.

They had a Presenting of the Roses ceremony where each student presented a red rose to special people in their lives. Where there are so many special people in Joey's life ,of course there were not enough roses so he chose ,his mother ,of course , me , Norma , his other grandmother , Evey , his other grandmother , and Donnie , who has been a father to Joey. The pictures are shown after the ceremony but I wanted to show who received the roses. It was a very special, and emotional moment for us all.

The moment we all have been waiting for, Joey gets his diploma. He is now officially an Alumni of Deming High School of 2008 !

Deming High School graduated 27 students in the class of 2008.
Deming High School's Class Night was one of three nights of graduation was held Tuesday night May 27, 2008 in the school gym.The girls dressed in their formals and the boys dressed in dress slacks and shirt and ties.Class President Amanda Radeke gave a short speech to open the ceremony. Erin Carmack also gave a short speech, taking the class through memories they shared through the years at Deming. One of the memories was a trip to Frankfort in grade school where almost every student on the bus threw up on the way home. After the speeches the Class of 2009 sand "Letter to Me" by Brad Paisley. The evening went on with the senior's Last Will and Testiment, leaving memories and inside jokes to their underclassmen, and reminding them not to rush through high school, it goes quicker than you think. The senior's sang "Your Gonna Miss This" by Trace Adkins. After the Last Will and Testament , the seniors presented gag gifts to each other chosen by their classmates. One gift was a pair of scissors for Joey , shouting to him to "get a hair cut",Rachael Massey got a pair of devil horns to make her to at least look mean. The students also had gag gifts they chose for teachers. The senior's were then awarded their scholarships and awards. Lastly, the senior class sponser , Mr. Aaron Massey handed back letters they each had written in grade school thanking his mother who had sponsered the class trip to Frankfort mentioned earlier.
Class night was followed by Baccalaureate on Wednesday night at the Christian Church in Mount Olivet. They were all dressed in their graduation gowns and after everyone was seated each graduate came down the church isle and sat to the front of the church. The minister gave a really nice sermon and then each senior was called one by one to the pulpit and presented with a bible. very , very inspiring. The Graduation Ceremony was then on Friday night (the 30th) at 7:00 P.M. Then on Saturday the 31st there was a graduation/birthday party at Joey's house. There was a cookout , and a D.J. played lots of good music , and family and friends gathered to celebrate with Joey. He received a lot of nice gifts and money...He will be attending Bluegrass Community College in the fall.
