Retta & Lou Langdon

This page is for two people I am so happy to have had in my life for so many years. They are more than friends, they have become family. Retta and Lou Langdon are wonderful people. Retta and I went to beauty school together back in 1970 or 1971. After graduating beauty school we worked together at a beauty shop in Cincinnati and we became good friends. She met Lou in Cincinnati and they fell in love and married on February 25,1971, I will never forget this as I was in the hospital having my daughter Parisanne that night.I won't ever be able to forget their wedding anniversary , that is for sure!
She is originally from Tennessee and wanted to go home. She moved back to Tennessee and I really thought that the friendship would finally end with so many miles between us but....we kept in touch and the miles did not come between us , we got closer. We may not talk every day , or even every week but they are there and they know the spot they have in my heart and I know the spot I have in theirs. If you only gain one set of friends like Retta and Lou , that is all you need.
Retta is a real southern girl thru and thru. I refer to her as "Miss Tennessee Pride" and really that is what she is to me. We are as different as day and night , that is for sure but she is not judgemental of me and accepts me as I am. I love them both for that . They are true christians and if anyone ever wanted to strive to be like someone, they are who I would choose. I cannot say enough about them !! So below are pictures of Retta, Lou, their daughter, Ginger , Their grandchildren, Cody, and Rachel , her mother , who will be 93 years young this July,11th. When you meet Retta's mother , you know why Retta is as sweet as she is.

Retta's Mom lost the battle with cancer this week and she is home with God.
Malachi 3:17..."And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him."
This was Mrs. Armes , One of God's jewels. My prayers go out to the whole family.

This is Benjamin , Retta and Lou's Great Nephew. He is a real cutie! He is 2 1/2 years old and he lives in Tennessee. He has iGAN which is a disease of the kidney. This is an adult disease of the kidney and it is very rare for a child to have this.It could lead to a kidney transplant. My friend Retta says he is the happiest, active little boy in spite of this disease.Your prayers would be greatly appreciated.Let us pray that this disease is something this little fella will out grow and not have to have a kidney transplant.
*update:He has made a lot of improvement and everyone is so happy but he still needs your prayers and they are greatly appreciated.
*Benjamin Update Ben went back to the doctor for the first time in 2 months. He had no protein in his urine for the first time since all this started. We got his lab report today in the mail and most areas are within normal range. He still has a few test areas that need to come down and are a little high. He looks totally normal again. His swelling from the syndrome as well as from his prednisone has completely gone away. If things continue to progress well, we will be decreasing the prednisone 1 ml every month until eventually we will be off it Lords willing. We got to decrease it by 1 ml this time. So he is currently taking 7 ml of prednisone every other day. Next month goes to 6ml and so on. Our next appointment is a few days after Christmas. Please continue to keep Ben in your prayers and pray that he will stay healthy this winter (Sickness can make a big difference in his levels) and that his levels will continue to improve in his bloodwork.
Let us all pray he keeps up with the way things are going and soon he will be all better and with God's help I am sure he will !
