February 25,2008 Meeting
A few senior citizens came to the Senior Citizen Building to see what we do at our Quilting meetings and some of our accomplishments. I am the slow one and have not progressed as fast as they have but here are some of their projects.
This is Peggy Buckler's "Keshia-Christmas Quilt" , What you cannot see in this picture is the Quilting all around the border which is stitching that looks like stings of christmas lights , Just beautiful ! Peggy is the lady to the left in the picture.
This is Sally Fooks quilt pattern "Bento Box".
The first picture is Sandra Murray's quilt pattern "Hidden Spool" quilt top ; the second picture is her version of the quilt pattern "Candy Cane Lane". We did the Candy Cane Lane at our Christmas Party night meeting and we all brought our sewing machines and sewed our Candy Cane Quilt tops. Some chose Christmas material and some chose to use their own material and the versions that came out that night was GREAT !

This quilt pattern is "Hearts All A Flutter" There are two of this pattern ,one was done by Sally Fooks and the other one is done by Peggy Buckler. There is just a slight difference between them but each of them is just BEAUTIFUL !
I forgot to bring my version of the quilt pattern of "Candy Cane Lane" so I am putting it on here to show it off. It is not finished yet. It has two borders to put onto it yet, a three inch and a two inch. Then the backing. I chose christmas material for mine. To make the Candy Cane Lane pattern you choose twelve different pieces of material.I am very happy with mine so far. When it is finished I will post it on the website.

Linda Edwards did this quilt which is a Crayon Quilt , each character is colored with special crayons. This is a quilt top and has not been qiilted yet. The two side pictures are close ups of two of the colored characters.

These baby quilts were done by Louisa Edwards , one of the Senior citizens that came to our meeting and Linda Edwards mother . These quilts were hand quilted . Adorable aren't they ?

Peggy as always has such beautiful quilts to show. Peggy brought Betty her Candy Cane Lane quilt that she quilted for her. There are not enough words to express the work that Peggy does.Betty's colors she chose and pieced together made a beautiful quilt.
